Self Regional Healthcare recently concluded an eight-week project to renovate the medical center’s main lobby.
Patients, visitors and team members now enjoy a new information desk, public seating and revamped food and gift shop areas as a result of the efforts.
Those parking in the lots directly in front of the hospital no longer have to detour to the Spring Street entrance on the West side of the hospital, as had been the case since the project began Jan. 11.
The new Veranda, with a stylish design and modern and appealing menu, offers healthy grab-and-go meals as well as specialty drinks and coffee. Located to the left of the man lobby, The Veranda offers indoor and outdoor dining areas. Beside the café is a new hospital gift shop, which offers flowers, cards and other gifts for patients, team members and others.
“These were much needed renovations, and I believe patients and visitors will be greatly impressed with the upgraded main lobby,” said Dan Branyon, hospital spokesman. “A great deal of planning and work has been under way to ensure it is as comfortable and convenient as possible.”
While the front entrance is once again open, other renovations beyond the main lobby will continue over the next few weeks. This area will include an upgraded Chapel, which is being funded by contributions to the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation. Traffic from the main lobby to the hospital’s patient tower and other parts of the medical center will not be deterred by this work.
